Had the catfish and philly and enjoyed both ALOT. Not as far out of Jackson as youd think and definitely worth the trip.
After the movies, we dropped by Tony's Fish house. Gosh this is bad, we go to the movies so often and this temptation is only 4 minutes from the theater!! We got sweet heat wings, lemon pepper wings, half breaded, half unbreaded. Dinner includes 2 sides, we chose okra and hushpuppies. I also got the cat fish strips, that includes seasoned crinkled fries. Everything came out piping hot, fresh and just how I like it...CRISPY! Breading on his catfish is light and nicely seasoned. The wings are big and meaty, I love how the skin is so crispy even sitting in that sauce, I can eat chicken skin all day and be a happy camper. He has a new flavor that isn't on the menu yet, lemon pepper. Now I'm going to tell you this, hands down the best lemon pepper wings around! We fought over it. The next time I'm at Tony's I'm ordering the 12 piece lemon pepper all to myself. Sorry, sharing is caring, but you're gonna need to order your own.
New location, same great food, same great service. Oh how I've missed these wings. Y'all go check him out. Great people! I got the bread buffalo wings with ranch dressing, coleslaw, fries, and bread for less than $10. I called my order in and it was ready upon arrival. Those wings and fries were A1 certified. The coleslaw I didn't care for, it has sweet pickles and I don't like pickles in my slaw. But there are other side items you can substitute, so I know for next time. The food was all perfectly seasoned and sauced. Hot and cooked correctly. FYI, the atmosphere was rather warm, so keep that in mind. May want to call ahead to place your order. O M F G!! DUDE, this place is awesome!!!! The BEST place I've visited since I've been in MS!!!! This place is a gem. It's a 'hole in the wall' for sure. And the food...I am in love. What I ordered: 3pc fish w/ fries, coleslaw and bread. Great customer service, very clean restaurant. If you're ever in Pearl, MS please go to this restaurant, you won't be disappointed at all!!! LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!
Still a great place with great food. I've tried most of the menu and everything is good with large portions. The customer service is great. They keep me, my friends and family coming back. 5 Stars from each visit is what I experienced.
This place is a hidden GEM! Catfish is a whole filet or whole fish fried just right! Batter is light and flavorful and not greasy! Pork rinds are made fresh and there's nothing like eating a fresh, hot pork rind! We had fries and hush puppies. They were not homemade nor anything special though. The fish and pork rinds were good enough to overcome our short lived disappointment. I can't wait to go back and try their pork chops and chicken wings!
I got their 3pc catfish plate with coleslaw and hush puppies. 1st of all you get 3 good size of catfish (bigger than I thought I would). They was really good and hardly any catfish taste. Great batter and not greasy at all. 2nd the coleslaw was great as well, sweet like I like it. 3rd the hushpuppies was really good as well. 4th they threw in two pieces of bread, I don't know why but hey I ate one slice. Polite/friendly service and good turnaround time when waiting on my to go meal. I'm a big believer in supporting local family owned businesses and not only is this a very good place to eat, I will be going back again for sure.
